    @vapvarun,

    I don’t manage to embed the featured image of lesson without the image being cut off.

    All images that were already there when I installed Social Learner are displayed fine.

    The google presentation is the same (format 960×540 px), image is exported images as .png and then uploaded as featured image.

    Also the Sensei settings for the lesson image are set on 960×540, no hardcrop.

    Yet the image is cut off (see file upload). When I use one of the previously uploaded images for a test in the same lesson, it is displayed fine.

    Am I missing something?

    Opening the image in an extra tab showes that it has been hard cropped to 960×400 when setting it as featured image, but only in the lesson. The uploaded media is still 960×540.

    Plus, this phenomenon of 960×400 hardcropping did not happen when I used an already uploaded image.

    How can I prevent this hard-cropping or set the featured-image size for lessons to 960x540px? – As this is the format that I always use for infographics.

    What I find strange is: The newly uploaded image has 960x540px in the media library. When I remove the cropped featured image from the lesson and try to set it again, it is cropped again.

    When I use any other image from the library with the same format 960x540px as featured image, it is not cropped.

    Hello @vapvarun,

    It would be helpful to get a solution for this soon, so that I can insert featured images in the lessons I am writing.

    I have also tried to set Sensei single lesson image to 960x540px hardcropping, regenerated the thumbnail and then inserted the image again into the lesson. The edit view shows the image as featured image complete, but the frontend lesson shows that the image is hardcropped to 960×400.

    Hi @nmschaller , I have checked codes for lesson single image, sensei plugin function sensei_lesson_image() is called there, you can control image from the Sensei setting only. It’s your choice you want to go with hard crop or soft crop. Screenshot is just displaying generated images not hard cropped get_the_post_thumbnail( $post_id, array( 100, 100) ); method is used there where 100 , 100 is replaced by the values you have set in sensei settings.

    I will suggest you to raise this topic to sensei forums to get their views on it.

    @vapvarun,

    Do you mean that this is purely a Sensei matter? There is no involvement of your Social Learner theme/plugins?

    In this case I wonder where the ratio of 960x400px shall come from because I have not set that anywhere.

    @jeanpierre

    Your 960px limit is Boss. confinement setting… Varun missed that course… rofl

    if you want to play with it, go to /wp-content/themes/boss/buddyboss-inc/theme-functions.php

    line 973: $content_width = 960;

    it is not showing “croped” in all pages, because this setting is specific for certain pages where the width is modified to fit all displays…

    Thank you, @jeanpierre.

    @vapvarun, could you please look again at this:

    If 960px is the preset width in Boss, then this is fine as it is exactly the width of my images.

    The height is the problem: While my presentation images are 16:9 with 960x540px, in the lesson they appear cut off in the height. New height is only 400px; it is missing something on top and bottom.

    Don’t know what you mean. It looks cropped in desktop and mobile view at all widths.

    Hi @nmschaller , try these settings

    please include higher value of width 1000+
    in sensei option fill 1200 for width and 540 for height

    and upload images with exact 960*540

    Regards

    @vapvarun

    Thanks a lot!

    It looks fine now, even without regenerating thumbnails or uploading and embedding the featured image again. Just the new setting and done.

    Resolved.
