    Just wondering if there is a way with the use of CSS to disable the feature that auto-loads a thumbnail and excerpt on a posted link?

    @namrons you can disable the visibility of the preview box but the content will still be posted to the activity. If that is what you want add this to custom.css:
    .bb-url-scrapper-container{display:none !important;}
