Question
September 4, 2014 at 10:55 pm #31309@milenaHi TJ,
how is everything? 🙂
I am researching a way to add the group activity to my courses pages.
I have an LMS, and am using post tabs on the course page- with course info, price, projects, forum and – what i’d like to add is the group’s page.I can’t link to it, would like to keep that on the same page under separated tabs.
I managed to do that quite successfully with the group forum- bbpress has shortcodes, but haven’t found anything as good with buddypress.
Do buddyboss theme/ plugins have shortcodes incorporated?I want to take the group activity and paste in a shorcode to my course page.
Hope there is something like that..
Thank you.Answers

AlyssaParticipant@milena things are great, thanks for asking! Sorry, but BuddyBoss does not have any shortcodes, but groups are classified under bbpress so perhaps they have a shortcode you simply aren’t aware exists. Might want to ask in the bbpress forums.
September 5, 2014 at 6:12 pm #31336@style960@milena @tjchester Bowes Codes plugin is almost what you’re looking for. The exact plugin you need is Gears – it’s included in the Klein theme. I don’t know if it’s available separately or not, maybe worth dropping the theme author an email…
September 6, 2014 at 12:43 am #31342@milenaHi Paul @style960, thank you.
I gave Bowes Codes a try yesterday, and the problem with them is that it’s not a live group activity shortcode , it’s just a link to a grop, with a picture.
I found another plugin, by buddydev, and there you can embed the group latest activity but it is still just the snippet of the feed with no option to add activity, like posts or do anything.
But the bbpress forum shortcode is completely active- and thats really cool.
I will go ahead and research Gears. Thanks for the thought.
@tjchester bbpress does not have a shortcode for groups. I think that it would be an amazing new development if Buddyboss added shortcodes to the feeds. Pass it on, will you?

September 6, 2014 at 3:57 am #31343@milenaHi again @style960,
I tool a look, really liked the design of the group carousel and the styles in general. But as far as I could tell the activity feed (and I guess group activity too if they have that ) is again a snippet kind of embed. Meaning its a static page and not the actual group page with the wall where you can post things.
