Display the Profile Dropdown Menu by Hovering

Introduction

BuddyBoss does not provide a built-in option to show the profile dropdown menu on hover. You can use a CSS snippet to make the dropdown menu visible when users hover over their profile, improving navigation and accessibility.

Custom Workaround

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to BuddyBoss > Theme Options
  2. Under Custom Codes, toggle Enable CSS to On
  3. Paste the following CSS:
.user-wrap.user-wrap-container:hover > .sub-menu {

    opacity: 1;

    visibility: visible;

}
  1. Click Save Changes

Any custom code is considered “custom work.” Please review our Support Policy for more details.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Q: The dropdown menu is still not appearing on hover, what should I check?

A: Clear your site cache, caching plugin, or CDN cache. Ensure the CSS was pasted exactly as shown and that Enable CSS was turned on before saving

Q: Can I adjust the dropdown animation or transition?

A: Yes. Additional CSS such as transition: opacity 0.3s ease; can be added to .sub-menu for smoother hover effects

Q: Will this affect other menus on the site?

A: No. This CSS specifically targets the profile dropdown menu

Q: Who can I contact for further assistance?

A: Submit a support ticket through your BuddyBoss account dashboard for personalized help
