Hide Export Data Tab Under the Account Settings Page

Table of Content

Introduction

BuddyBoss does not include a built in option to hide the Export Data tab under the Account Settings page. If you want to remove this option from user accounts, you can apply a simple CSS snippet in BuddyBoss to hide the Export Data tab from view.

Custom Workaround

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to BuddyBoss > Theme Options
  2. Under Custom Codes, toggle Enable CSS to On
  3. Paste the following CSS:

li#export-personal-li.bp-personal-sub-tab {

    display: none;

}
  1. Click Save Changes

Any custom code is considered custom work. Please review our Support Policy for more details.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Q: The Export Data tab is still visible. What should I check

A: Clear your site cache, caching plugin, or CDN cache. Make sure the CSS was pasted exactly as shown and that Enable CSS was turned on before saving.

Q: Will this remove the Export Data functionality completely

A: No. This only hides the Export Data tab from the Account Settings interface. The underlying functionality still exists in WordPress.

Q: Will this affect admins or only regular users

A: This CSS hides the tab for all users who can access the Account Settings page, including administrators.

Q: Can this be reverted later

A: Yes. Simply remove the CSS snippet and save your changes to restore the Export Data tab.
