Validity and Renewals
BuddyBoss Theme and BuddyBoss Platform Pro
Your purchase comes with a one year license that grants you free access to product updates and customer support. To continue having access to product updates and customer support beyond the first year following your purchase, you need to continue to renew your license.
When you purchase your BuddyBoss Theme and Platform Pro plugin you are subscribed to a yearly subscription that allows you to continue having access to product updates and customer support until you cancel your subscription.
Licenses are subject to annual renewal at the current product pricing, as adjusted in February 2024.
After your license is expired, you can no longer renew it. If you wish to have access to new updates and support, you will need to purchase the product again.
All BuddyBoss Theme and BuddyBoss Platform Pro discounts and promotions only apply to the first year.
Other Themes & Plugins (excluding BuddyBoss Theme and BuddyBoss Platform Pro)
Your purchase comes with a one year license that grants you free access to product updates and customer support. To continue having access to product updates and customer support beyond the first year following your purchase, you need to continue to renew your license.
The license for your product is renewed every year at 50% of the original purchase price.
After your license is expired, you can no longer renew it. If you wish to have access to new updates and support, you will need to purchase the product again.
BuddyBoss App
Your BuddyBoss App subscription comes with a product license that gives you access to new product updates and 24/7 customer support via our support desk.
For as long as your subscription is active, your license will remain active and you will continue to get access to new product updates and 24/7 customer support.
When you cancel your subscription, your mobile app will stop working.
Pausing a subscription
If you have an active BuddyBoss App license and are not yet making use of it, you can choose to pause your subscription at no cost. This will delay the subscription renewal date.
If you own a yearly BuddyBoss App license, you can pause your subscription for up to 6 months in a given 12 months period.
If you own a monthly BuddyBoss App license, you can pause your subscription for up to 3 months in a given 12 months period.
When your subscription is paused, you will not have access to customer support, product updates and the ability to create app builds. And if your mobile app is already published, your app will stop working.
Lifetime License
Lifetime licenses do not require any renewal. Once you purchase a lifetime license for a product, you will have access to support and updates for the life of the product. A lifetime license to one product is specific to the product purchased and doesn’t give you free access to other products BuddyBoss offers.

New product updates will be automatically made available to you via the WordPress dashboard. You can automatically update your product via the WordPress dashboard. If you wish to continue accessing new software updates, you will need to renew your license.

Updates to your BuddyBoss App plugin
New plugin updates will be automatically made available to you via the WordPress dashboard. You can automatically update your plugin via the WordPress dashboard.
Updates to your mobile app
Your mobile app on the app stores doesn’t have to always be updated. All content updates are done via your WordPress dashboard and are synchronized with your mobile app in real-time.
Your app only needs to be updated when you want to take advantage of new BuddyBoss App software updates including new features, critical bug fixes, security and performance updates or when you make certain configuration changes that require a new app build such as changing your launch screen image, your app icon or enabling AdMob.
To update your mobile app in the app stores, you can generate a new app build from your WordPress admin area, through the BuddyBoss App plugin. This will use BuddyBoss servers to generate a new app build from our latest stable software release.
You can then follow the tutorials on how to push a new mobile app update to the Apple App Store and how to publish a new update to your mobile app on the Google Play Store. The process is fairly simple.
Alternatively, if you prefer not to publish your update yourself, our team can push a new app update for you for a small fee of $49. Just create a ticket and our team will assist you with the update.
You can generate new app builds from the BuddyBoss App plugin when publishing a new update to your app. Builds are limited to 20 builds per month and up to a maximum of 100 builds per month depending on your plan, to help prevent abuse of the build system. You shouldn’t need anything close to that number of builds. Most apps will not require more than 1-3 builds per month. But if you’re doing custom development and require more builds, you can reach out to customer support and we can assist you with understanding your needs and making adjustments to your account. Additional fees may apply.

Refund Policy

To add a payment method, go to My Account > Billing, and choose “Add Payment Method”.
- How do I remove or update my card ?

Licenses & Subscriptions FAQ
- Do I need an active subscription to use my BuddyBoss Theme or plugin ?
If your subscription expires and you do not renew it. You can still use the product. However, you will no longer be able to re-download the product, receive updates or support for it.
To avoid having your subscription expire, make sure your subscription is set to auto-renew, before the expiration date.
- Do I need an active subscription to use my BuddyBoss powered mobile app ?
Yes, if you cancel your subscription, your mobile app will no longer work.

When will my subscription to the App start and renew?
You are billed for the first installment of your BuddyBoss App when you sign up, which secures your place in the next available delivery window. Your subscription starts as soon as you are granted access and will renew one month (or one year, if you choose the yearly option) after the date you first get access to the BuddyBoss App Plugin during your delivery window.
- My App subscription was renewed but I no longer need the App or plugin, can I request a refund?
For monthly renewals, you are free to cancel at any time and you will not be billed again from the following billing month. Yearly subscription renewal reminders are sent out several weeks before your renewal date and you can reach out to cancel your renewal at any time before you are charged to cancel your subscription. If for some reason you missed your reminders or forgot to cancel we will still consider refund requests up to 48 hours after you are charged at our discretion, after which time we can’t offer a refund.

I just bought the BuddyBoss App but I can’t find any download files or see where to access the app in my account? When will I get access?
Purchasing the BuddyBoss App reserves your place in the next available delivery window. The current delivery window is displayed on our website at your point of purchase and could be up to one month from the time you reserve your place. When your delivery window opens you will receive an email with details on how to access your files, which will also be available at that point from inside your account area.
Themes & Plugins released prior to 2019
To activate your license key, you will need to install the BuddyBoss Updater plugin on your site and follow the instructions on activating your license key.
You can activate and deactivate license keys, at any moment.
When your subscription is renewed, your license key remains the same, so there is no need to update it on your site.

Renewals FAQ
- How can I enable auto-renewals on theme & plugin purchases ?
You can set your subscriptions to auto-renew by going to your BuddyBoss Account Dashboard > My Subscriptions and toggle auto-renewal for your product.
If you do not have a payment method saved, please go to Billing and add a payment method, before activating auto-renewal.
- How can I disable auto-renewals on theme & plugin purchases ?
You can disable auto-renew by going to your BuddyBoss Account Dashboard > My Subscriptions and toggle auto-renewal off, for your product.
- Can I enable auto-renewal for one theme or plugin purchase and not the others from the same order ?
Yes, you can toggle auto-renewal for each product separately.
How do I know if my theme or plugin purchase is set to auto-renew ?
The BuddyBoss Account Dashboard > My Subscriptions page, lists each product and shows the auto-renewal toggle. If the toggle is on, then your product is set to auto-renew.
- If it’s time to renew my theme or plugin’s subscription, will you notify me ?
If auto-renewal is disabled on your product, we will send you emails informing you about the expiration of your subscription and giving you an opportunity to renew it.
- Can I cancel my BuddyBoss App subscription ?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Once cancelled, your mobile application will no longer work.
- If the payment on my BuddyBoss App subscription renewal fails, will you notify me ?
Yes, we will make several attempts to get in touch with you before cancelling your subscription.
Upgrades and Transfers FAQ
- Can I upgrade my theme or plugin product license?
Yes. If, for example, you purchased the single site license and would like to upgrade to the 5, 10 or 20 site licenses, simply head over to your buddyboss.com account, find the “Profile” drop-down menu, find “My Account“ and select the “Subscriptions“ tab. From there, you’ll see a column that says “Upgrade”. You may choose the number of licenses for your upgrade. Then, you’ll be directed to checkout, where you can pay the price difference.
- Can I transfer my theme or plugin subscription to someone else?
You can transfer a single site subscription. To do that, you can create a new ticket and choose “My account” as the reason for contacting. Provide information about what product you would like to transfer and to which email.
You may not break up your multisite subscription. For example, if you purchased a 5 site license, you cannot transfer ownership of one site license to someone else. However, you may transfer the full 5 site license, if you wish.
- Can I upgrade my BuddyBoss App plan ?
Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any moment. The cost of your monthly subscription will go up and you will just need to pay for the difference in price of your On-boarding and Publishing package.
- Can I transfer my BuddyBoss App subscription to someone else?
No, your BuddyBoss App subscription cannot be transferred to someone else.
- Can I transfer my BuddyBoss Theme Lifetime License to someone else?
No, your BuddyBoss Theme Lifetime License cannot be transferred to someone else.
