The Activity Comments settings control how members interact with activity posts through comments. You can manage commenting permissions, editing duration, visibility limits, threading behavior, and how comments load in the feed. This manual walks you through each setting. Note that comments on WordPress posts and custom post types follow your WordPress Discussion settings, not these settings.
Activity Comments Settings
Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard, go to BuddyBoss > Settings, then click Activity Comments from the left menu. The following settings are available. Click Save Changes when done.
- Enable Comments: Allows members to comment on activity posts. Individual posts can still have comments closed by users or administrators.
- Edit Activity Comments: Allows members to edit their own comments. Set the editing window from: Forever, 30 Days, 7 Days, 1 Day, 1 Hour, or 10 Minutes.
- Comment Visibility: Sets how many comments display per post in the feed (None or 1–5). Members can load more via View more comments. High counts may affect performance.
- Comment Threading: Organizes replies into nested threads. Set the number of thread levels (e.g., 2 levels deep). Replies at the deepest level are not nested further.
- Comments Loading: Sets how many additional comments load per request (e.g., 5, 10, 15). Higher values may affect site performance.
