The Activity Sharing settings control how members share activity posts within your community and to external platforms. This manual walks you through the sharing options and social platform toggles.
Activity Sharing Settings
Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard, go to BuddyBoss > Settings > Activity Sharing. The following toggles control sharing behavior across the platform. Disabling Enable Sharing turns off all sharing functionality site-wide.
- Enable Sharing: The main sharing toggle. When disabled, all other sharing options are inactive.
- Custom Message: Allows members to add their own message when sharing content to provide context.
- Share to Groups: Allows members to repost public activity posts into groups they belong to.
- Share to Friends: Enables sharing public posts directly to other members’ profiles.
- Share to Message: Allows private sharing of posts via the direct messaging system.
- Share as Link: Enables members to copy and share a direct URL to any public activity post.
Social Platform Sharing
Below the sharing settings, enable or disable individual external platforms for sharing activity posts outside your site: Messenger, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. To control how shared links appear on external platforms, configure your social sharing metadata (title, description, featured image) under Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options.
