What is BP Messages Tool?
BP Messages Tool is an admin utility for BuddyBoss Platform that gives site administrators access to any member’s private messages for moderation purposes. By default, BuddyBoss private messages are only visible to the sender and recipient. No one else can read them, including site administrators.
This plugin adds a Tools > BP Messages screen in wp-admin where administrators can look up any member by username or user ID, view their inbox and sent messages, and delete message threads when needed. It is designed specifically for responding to member harassment complaints, reviewing reported conversations, and taking action on abusive private messaging without requiring direct database access.

Admin Message Review
View the private messages of any BuddyBoss member from the WordPress admin area. Administrators see full conversation content for any member to investigate harassment reports and member complaints.
Inbox and Sent Box Access
Review both the inbox and the sent message folder for any member separately. Administrators see what a member received and what they sent, giving a complete picture of a reported conversation.
User Filtering
Look up messages for any specific member by entering their username or user ID. Filter to the exact member involved in a complaint without browsing through unrelated messages.
Message Thread Deletion
Delete individual message threads from the admin screen. Remove abusive or policy-violating conversations from the platform after reviewing them. Deletion is permanent with no undo.
Bulk Thread Deletion
Select and delete multiple message threads at once from the admin screen. Handle mass message spam or bulk harassment cases without removing threads one at a time.
Default Recent Message View
The tool displays the last 10 sent and received messages by default when a member is looked up, giving administrators a quick overview of recent messaging activity before filtering deeper.

Install BP Messages Tool
Download and activate BP Messages Tool from WordPress.org via Plugins > Add New. The plugin requires BuddyBoss Platform to be installed and activated on your site.

Access the Admin Tool
After activation, navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Tools > BP Messages. The plugin adds a sub-menu item under Tools accessible to site administrators.

Look Up a Member
Enter the username or user ID of the member whose messages you want to review. The tool displays their last 10 sent and received messages by default.

Use the filter controls to switch between viewing the member’s inbox and their sent message folder. Review both sides of a reported conversation for a complete picture before taking action.
