BuddyBlog + BuddyBoss Integration
Let Every Member Publish Blog Posts Straight from Their Profile
What is BuddyBlog?
BuddyBlog adds a front-end blogging tab to every member profile in your BuddyBoss community. Members create, edit, publish, and delete blog posts directly from their profile page without ever touching the WordPress dashboard.
Admins control which user roles can post, set upload limits, and configure post types and taxonomies from a single settings page. The plugin works with standard WordPress posts and custom post types, so you can shape what kind of content your community produces.
Developed by BuddyDev, BuddyBlog is free to download and built to work with the BuddyBoss Platform. It requires the BP Simple Front End Post plugin to handle post submission.
Key Features of BuddyBlog
Posts Profile Tab
Adds a dedicated Posts tab to every BuddyBoss member profile. Visitors see a member’s published posts in one place without leaving the community.
Front-End Post Creation
Members write and submit new posts from their profile tab. No admin dashboard access required — the full post creation experience lives on the front-end.
Edit and Delete Controls
Members manage their existing posts from the same profile tab. They can edit content, update drafts, and delete posts without any admin involvement.
Publish and Unpublish Posts
Members publish posts directly or save them as drafts from the front-end. Admins can restrict direct publishing so posts require approval before going live.
Custom Post Types and Taxonomies
Admins set which post type and taxonomy BuddyBlog uses from the WordPress settings page. Use standard blog posts or point it at any custom post type on your site.
Featured Images and File Uploads
Members add featured images and attach files to posts from the front-end form. Admins set the maximum number of uploads allowed per post.
See BuddyBlog in Action
Watch how members create and manage blog posts directly from their BuddyBoss profile, and see how admins control permissions and post settings from the dashboard.

Use Cases and Examples
Course Communities Publishing Student Work
Educators and online course creators use BuddyBlog to give students a space to share essays, project write-ups, or lesson reflections directly on their BuddyBoss profiles. Students publish their work from the front-end, and it appears under their profile Posts tab for instructors and peers to read. Course groups can follow each other’s posts without leaving the community platform.

Professional Networks Sharing Industry Insights
Members in professional BuddyBoss communities use BuddyBlog to share articles, case studies, or opinion pieces under their own name. Each post lives on their profile tab and builds a visible body of work within the network. Admins set publishing permissions by user role, so only verified members or contributors can post publicly.

Niche Communities Producing User-Generated Content
Hobby, interest, and topic-based communities use BuddyBlog to collect recipes, reviews, tutorials, or stories from their members. Admins configure a custom post type to match the content format and set upload limits to control media use. The result is a stream of member-created content that gives the community something to read, share, and discuss.

Benefits of Integrating BuddyBlog with BuddyBoss
Add Benefit Image 1
- Profile-Centered Publishing: Every post a member creates appears on their BuddyBoss profile tab, building a visible library of their contributions. Visitors to the profile see a full archive of that member’s published work alongside their activity, groups, and connections. Members own their content directly within the community, not on a separate blog URL.
- Admin Control Over Who Posts What: Admins decide which user roles can create and publish posts from the BuddyBoss settings. You can restrict direct publishing so posts go into a pending queue, or open it up for trusted member types. The upload limit setting prevents any member from filling storage with files.
- No Dashboard Access Required: Members do everything from the front-end: create, edit, publish, unpublish, and delete. Your community stays self-contained, and members never need to navigate WordPress admin to manage their content. This keeps the experience consistent with the rest of your BuddyBoss platform.
- Custom Post Types for Any Community Format: Admins point BuddyBlog at any registered post type on the site. A recipe community uses a recipe post type, a review site uses a review post type, and a course platform uses an assignment post type. The plugin adapts to the content structure you’ve already built.

- Free with No Feature Limits: BuddyBlog is completely free to download and use. All core features — front-end posting, editing, publishing controls, custom post types, and file uploads — are included at no cost. For communities that need more advanced workflows, BuddyBlog Pro adds unlimited forms, post type tabs, and moderation queues.
- Built for BuddyBoss Platform: BuddyBlog is developed by BuddyDev and explicitly supports the BuddyBoss Platform. It slots into the existing profile tab system and works alongside your current BuddyBoss features without requiring custom code or compatibility workarounds.
