The Web Push Notifications feature allows members to receive real-time browser notifications for community activity even when they are not actively browsing your site. This manual walks you through each notification setting.
Notification Settings
Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard, go to BuddyBoss > Settings > Web Push Notifications. The following settings are available.
- Web Push Notifications: The main toggle. When enabled, members can opt in to receive BuddyBoss notifications through supported browsers.
- Default Notification Icon: Upload a custom icon that appears in browser push notifications. BuddyBoss recommends 384 × 384px.
- Skip Active Members: Prevents push notifications from being sent to members who are currently active on your site. Notifications resume once the member becomes inactive.
- Auto Request: Automatically prompts visitors to allow browser notifications on their first visit. When disabled, members can manually enable notifications from their account notification settings.
- Enable Soft Prompt: Shows a customizable pre-permission message before the browser’s native notification request appears, helping improve opt-in rates by explaining the benefits first.
