How to Configure the Members Widget in BuddyBoss Theme

Updated

Introduction

The Members Widget displays a list of members from your community in a chosen sidebar or widget area. This widget helps users discover other members, encouraging interaction and engagement across your platform.

Adding and Configuring the Widget

  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets in your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Select the widget area where you want the members list to appear (e.g., Activity Directory Left).
  3. Click the + icon and search for Members.
  1. Add the Members Widget to the selected area.
  2. Configure the following options:
    • Title – Enter a custom widget title (e.g., Community Members).
    • Max Members to Show – Define how many members to display in the list.
    • Default Members to Show – Choose which type of members to display (e.g., Newest, Active, or Popular).
  3. Click Update to save your changes.

Verifying the Widget

  1. Go to the Activity Feed on the frontend.
  2. The Members Widget will appear in the sidebar (e.g., left side of the Activity Directory) as Members, showing the list of users according to your selected settings.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Q: The widget isn’t showing after I added it.
A: Make sure you added it to an active widget area and clicked Update. Refresh your browser or clear the cache if changes don’t appear.

Q: Can I control which members appear first?
A: Yes. You can choose the Default Members to Show option to display members by Newest, Active, or Popular.

Q: Can I place the widget in multiple areas?
A: Yes. You can add the Members Widget to any widget-ready area, such as sidebars or footers.
