Introduction
The DFY Web onboarding questionnaire is where you’ll provide the information, branding assets, and website requirements needed for the BuddyBoss team to build your website.
Before starting the questionnaire, take some time to finalize your branding, website structure, content strategy, and launch requirements. Having these decisions made in advance will help you complete the onboarding process more efficiently and reduce project delays.
Branding Assets to Prepare
The Rebranding section focuses on how your website will look and represent your brand.
Before completing this section, prepare the following:
Logo
Have a high-quality version of your logo available.
Recommended formats:
- SVG (preferred)
- PNG with transparent background
- High-resolution JPG
If you have multiple logo variations, prepare:
- Primary logo
- Light version
- Dark version
- Icon-only version (if available)
Brand Colors
Finalize your brand color palette before onboarding.
At minimum, identify:
- Primary brand color
- Secondary brand color
- Accent color
- Heading text color
- Body text color
If you already have brand guidelines, keep them available for reference.
Fonts
Decide which fonts should be used throughout the website.
Common examples include:
- Headline font
- Body font
- Button font (optional)
If you’re unsure, provide examples of websites whose typography you like.
Icons
Decide whether you have:
- Custom icons
- Brand-specific icon styles
- Preferred icon sets
If not, the BuddyBoss team can recommend options that match your branding.
Header and Side Panel
Before onboarding, determine:
- Main navigation items
- Menu structure
- Important pages you want visitors to access quickly
- Whether you want a simplified or content-rich navigation experience
Footer
Prepare the information you want displayed in the website footer.
Examples include:
- Copyright information
- Contact information
- Social media links
- Legal links
- Newsletter signup links
Login and Registration Experience
Decide how users will access your website.
Consider:
- Open registration
- Invite-only registration
- Membership-based registration
- Social login requirements
Website Structure Decisions
The Setup and Implementation section asks important questions about your website’s purpose and functionality.
Before starting, decide which of the following best describes your website:
- Community Only
- Memberships with Community
- Courses with Community
- Courses with Memberships and Community
This decision affects how the BuddyBoss team configures your website and which plugins may be required.
Community Structure Planning
Consider how your members will interact on the platform.
Examples include:
- Social Groups
- Discussion Forums
- Private Communities
- Member Directories
- Events
- Activity Feeds
Having a clear vision helps ensure the platform is configured correctly from the beginning.
Marketing Website Planning
The Marketing section allows you to choose starter templates and marketing pages.
Before completing this section, decide:
- Which marketing pages you need
- Which pages should be public
- Which pages should be restricted to members
Common marketing pages include:
- Home Page
- About Page
- Pricing Page
- Sales Page
- Course Landing Pages
- Membership Information Page
- Contact Page
You should also prepare:
- Page titles
- Preferred page URLs (slugs)
- Visibility requirements
Integrations and Features
Create a list of integrations you want included in your website.

Providing this information early helps avoid implementation changes later.
Domain and Hosting Decisions
Before completing the Preparing for Launch section, determine whether:
- You already own a domain name
- You need a new domain name
- You already have hosting
- You need hosting recommendations
If you already own a domain, prepare:
- Domain registrar information
- DNS access credentials (if available)
Content Preparation
Gather any content that will be added to your website.
Examples include:

The more content you have prepared before onboarding, the faster the implementation process will be.
