BuddyBoss App Tablet Support

Introduction

Both iPad (iPadOS) and Android tablets have BuddyBoss App Tablet Support, giving your members an optimized experience on larger screens. Tablet support is automatically included in newly generated app builds, allowing your community to be accessed seamlessly whether members are using a phone, tablet, or desktop.

This guide explains how to generate a new app build with tablet support and install it on a tablet for testing.

Generate a New App Build

Tablet support is included automatically in all newly generated app builds.

To generate a new build:

1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
2. Go to BuddyBoss App.
3. Create a new build for:
   • iOS
   • Android
4. Wait for the build process to complete.

No additional configuration is required to enable tablet support.

Test on an iPad

Before installing the app on an iPad, you’ll need to register the device if you’re using a development or testing build.

Register Your iPad

1. Add your iPad to your list of registered iOS testing devices.
2. Generate a new iOS build after registering the device.

Install the App

Once the build is complete:

1. Click Install on iOS Device.
2. Scan the generated QR code using your iPad.
3. Follow the prompts to install the app.

Test on an Android Tablet

To test the Android version:

1. Generate a new Android build.
2. Click Install on Android Device.
3. Scan the QR code using your Android tablet.
4. Download and install the application.

The initial tablet release extends the existing mobile experience while taking advantage of larger displays.

Current tablet support includes:

• The same app icon and launch screen used on mobile devices.
• Full support for the bottom navigation bar.

• Groups.
• Member Profiles.
• Modals and dialogs optimized for larger screens.
• Consistent navigation and functionality across supported devices.

If you’ve followed the recommended launch screen image specifications in the BuddyBoss App settings, your existing launch screen will automatically scale appropriately on tablets.
