This guide walks you through installing Gravity Forms, creating your first form, and displaying it on your website.
Install the Gravity Forms Plugin
To install Gravity Forms:
- Purchase and download Gravity Forms from:
https://www.gravityforms.com/pricing/ - Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Go to Plugins > Add New.
- Click Upload Plugin.
- Select the downloaded gravityforms-master.zip file.
- Click Install Now.
- Click Activate Plugin.
Alternatively, you can manually install the plugin by extracting the ZIP file into:
yourhostname/wordpress/wp-content/plugins
Then, go to Plugins in your WordPress Dashboard and activate Gravity Forms.
Create a New Form
To create your first form:
- Go to Forms from your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Click New Form.
- Choose one of the available form templates.
- Click Use Template.
- Enter a Form Title and Description.
- Click Create Form to open the Form Builder.
Build Your Form
Gravity Forms uses a drag-and-drop interface that makes it easy to build custom forms.
To customize your form:
- Use the Add Fields panel on the right to add the fields you need.
- Drag and drop fields into the desired position within the form.
- Reorder fields using the six-dot drag handle.
- Click any field to edit its settings, including the Field Label and other available options.
- Customize field choices, validation rules, and appearance as needed.
- Click Save Form when you’re finished.
Publish Your Form
After building your form:
- Create a new page or edit an existing one.
- Insert a Gravity Forms block or add the form using its shortcode.
- Select the form you created.
- Publish or update the page.
Your form will now be available to visitors.
